Federal cabinet reshuffle is on the cards with former Finance Min
ister Asad Umar likely to be re inducted. According to sources, Prime Min
ister Imran Khan may be about to change the ministries of eight to ten members of his cabinet. The premier might give the Petroleum Ministry to Asad Umar.
The Minister’s whose portfolios might be changed include Min
ister for Interior Ijaz Shah, Min
ister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry, Min
ister for Education Shafqat Mehmood, Zubaida Jalal a
nd Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan.
However, it is being speculated that Shafqat Mehmood might be given the Interior portfolio while Zubaida Jalal may be given the Education Ministry. Sources have also revealed that though Dr. Babar Awan wanted to become a senator, he will be given
the post of Advisor.

bly, Dr. Firdous might be given the responsibilities previously resting with Nadeem Afzal Chan. She is currently serving as Special Assistant to the Prime Min
ister for Information and Broadcasting, in office since 18 April 2019.
On the other hand, State Min
ister fo
r Parliamentary Affairs, Ali Muhammad Khan might be removed from his post while Fawad Chaudhry may yet again get his portfolio changed. Previously, Fawad Chaudhry held the Information Ministry but was given the Science and Technology portfolio when Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan was appointed as Special Advisor to the Prime Minister.
