KARACHI: Shaheen Air International?
?s first Hajj flight carrying 216 pas
sengers reached Karachi earlier today (Sunday).
According to details, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) had authorized Shaheen Air to operate flights from Saudi Arabia on Friday.
The special permission was given as part of its Hajj operation after 350 pilgrims got stuck at the Madina airport.
However, CAA has refused to extend the private airline’s licence which expired on August 30.
The aviation authority further stated that leg
al action is currently being taken against the airline as they have a remaining balance of Rs1.4 billion. They have also advised pas
sengers to be careful in any dealings with the airline.
Moreover, Shaheen Air’s spokesperson said they had canceled a flight just to bring back Stranded pilg
rims from Saudia Arabia.
