ISLAMABAD: As early results showed the victory to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI),
the party chairman Imran Khan summoned on Thursday a consultative meeting
of party leaders at his residence in Bani Gala, sources reported.
According to the sources, the meeting will be presided over by Khan a
nd it will further decide
the party’s next strategies regarding government formation.
Later today, Khan is expected to announce an action plan for the formation of a new government, sources added.
Sources reported that during the meeting,
the party leaders will be assigned to contact independent candidates from across the Punjab, moreover, the will also form a strategy to handle
opponent’s rigging allegations.
The party is ready to embrace the victory as unofficial results showed a major clean sweep in the country, however, on the other hand the
opponent party Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) rejected the results citing outright rigging.
Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) denied the allegations citing that elections w
ere ??100 percent fair and transparent.”
